Building Futures Together: Community Scholarships
At ASLAN Mechanical, we believe great communities are built when businesses invest in people. That’s why we proudly support scholarship programs at Southeast Community College (SCC) and Central Community College (CCC) in Nebraska. These colleges offer outstanding training in plumbing and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), trades that keep our homes comfortable and our water flowing. By funding scholarships and sharing information, we’re helping the next generation of technicians launch rewarding careers.
Central Community College (CCC)
CCC and its foundation award over $2 million in scholarships each year to students across its campuses. Many of these awards support trades education and help students cover tuition, tools, and living expenses.

Nebraska Career Scholarship at CCC
CCC participates in the statewide Nebraska Career Scholarship program. Students pursuing high-demand fields like Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology can receive up to $5,000 per year, renewable for up to three years.
To be eligible, applicants must carry at least nine credits, live in Nebraska and maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA.
The scholarship is awarded through the CCC Scholarship application, priority deadline March 1 and final deadline September 1. -
Walter Scott, Jr. Career Pathway Scholarship
The Walter Scott, Jr. Career Pathway Scholarship covers full tuition and fees plus room and board for up to four consecutive semesters. Additional funds may be available for books, tools and fees.
Scholarship recipients live on campus, register for at least 12 credits per semester and participate in career-development activities.
A dedicated Scott Pathway Director at CCC’s Hastings Campus helps students succeed. Eligible programs include Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Construction Technology, Electrical Technology and other skilled trades. -
Other Trade Scholarships
CCC’s Board of Governors approves numerous scholarships and tuition waivers each year.
Recently established funds, such as the Ken Wortman Scholarship and Mick & Janelle Grabowski Scholarship, specifically support students in skilled and technical sciences, including plumbing and HVAC.
These awards, along with scholarships from industry associations, provide additional financial assistance to students pursuing trade certifications. -

Applying is simple:
1. Submit the CCC Scholarship Application.
Complete the online application at CCC Scholarship Portal to be considered for all institutional and foundation scholarships, including the Nebraska Career Scholarship and Walter Scott, Jr. Career Pathway Scholarship.Apply online at CCC Scholarship Portal.
2. Meet program requirements.
Enroll in an eligible program (HVAC or plumbing-related) and maintain the required GPA and credit load.3. Watch deadlines.

Southeast Community College (SCC)
SCC awards more than $2.5 million in scholarships each year. Students submit a single application to be considered for hundreds of foundation awards, many of which support skilled-trade programs like HVAC and plumbing.

Nebraska Career Scholarship
The Nebraska Career Scholarship Program is designed for high-skill, high-demand careers.
Students enrolled in eligible programs, including Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology and Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Technology, may receive up to $5,000 per year, renewable for up to three years.
Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, required tools and equipment, room and board, and more. Recipients must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and take at least nine credit hours per semester. -
HVAC & Plumbing Scholarships
SCC’s Educational Foundation also offers program-specific scholarships.
For example, a memorial scholarship established by industry partners provides four $1,500 awards annually to HVAC/R and Plumbing Technology students.
These scholarships honor dedicated tradespeople and ease the financial burden for students entering these essential professions. -
